Install on macOS (Apple Silicon)

v0.2.650

macOS (Apple Silicon)

Download for macOS (Apple Silicon)

Fastest — one command, no warnings

Paste this into Terminal and press Return. It downloads TetherBay, moves it into Applications, clears the unsigned-beta flag, and opens it — so macOS never shows the “Apple could not verify” prompt at all.

curl -fsSL https://tetherbay.com/get.sh | sh

Prefer to click through it by hand instead? The manual steps below still work.

Or install by hand

TetherBay is in beta and not yet notarized by Apple, so macOS shows “Apple could not verify…” the first time you open it. If Finder still shows only a Done button, use the Terminal command below.

This is expected for the current unsigned beta. Before you install, you can check the file against the SHA-256 checksum published on the v0.2.650 release page.

  1. A

    Use Finder's Open command

Drag TetherBay into Applications, then in Finder hold Control, click TetherBay, choose Open, and confirm Open once.

  2. B

    Allow it in System Settings

Try to open TetherBay once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom and click Open Anyway. Open the app again and confirm.

  3. C

If macOS still refuses, run one Terminal command

Drag TetherBay into your Applications folder, then paste this into Terminal and press Return. After that, open TetherBay normally:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/TetherBay.app
